Try network magic. I’ve installed this on my home network with our d-link router and its been great. Its very intuitive. It also includes utilities to test your network connection speed and monitor activity on your network. You can set it up to send you daily email reports which will show you how other users on your network have been using the interenet ( ie: sites visited). Its meant primarily for home users so its relatively inexpensive
The “software” you need is actually the firmware in your wireless modem, all you need should be there.
Go to the modem manufacturer’s website, it should have all the info you need. Once you have setup the secure network, then you’ll need to tell windows what files and folders to share, setup the windows firewall to let others in, etc…
I’m trying to find the words to explain it but basically, you need to think that the modem and your computer as two separate computers and you need to prepare or “open” them up for sharing.
