Secure Wireless Network FAQ:

I have a D Link wireless router for internet connection for my laptop. I want to secure my wireless network but I’m not sure how to do it. I’m not sure where the CD that came with the router is, it has a manual on it. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could secure my network and if I need that CD to do so. Thanks so much!

You will need to access your wireless router with a wired connection CAT5. You can do so by going to run>cmd>iconic; once you are there, find the right ip address for your default gateway.
Open a browser, IE, type in the default gateway number in there, it will probably prompt you for a password, that is provided with device manual, there should a section that will say WEEP or encryption, this where you can setup a key to secure your wireless network.
You will finish by typing the same encryption key to your laptop to access your secured wireless network.
I would recommend you to know how to reset your wireless router in case that you are having issues.

Hope this help.

in address bar type 192.168.0.1 (this will get you in your router) and once you’re in, go to the “Tools ” tab.
the default login name is :admin
create a password.
